Let’s dive into it👇
Swap out your stale ads
Not all ads are created equal. And the old, low-performing ones? Those have got to go.
Hightouch can help you refresh your fatiguing ads in just one click. They show you insights on your ad performance so that you can spot the low performers, swap ’em out, and focus your energy on scaling up your high-performing ads.
You can do it all in the Hightouch Ad Studio. Ad Studio’s got the context of your ad performance built right into it to help you:
generate new variations of your ads instantly
launch your new ads as soon as you’re ready
keep your campaigns consistently high-performing
Turn your tired old ads into potentially high-performing, fresh creative with just a click.
Attribution
Attribution tools can’t beat your bank account
Attribution tools can make founders feel smarter while making the business dumber.
Every platform wants credit.
Meta says it drove the sale.
Google says it drove the sale.
Klaviyo says it drove the sale.
Your attribution tool tries to reconcile the mess.
But the bank account is the only scoreboard that can’t be double-counted.
If reported ROAS is up but cash is flat, you don’t have a scaling problem.
You have a measurement problem.
That does not mean attribution is useless.
It means attribution should be a directional input, not the operating system.
The better order:
Start with Shopify revenue.
Subtract COGS, shipping, discounts, fees, and ad spend.
Calculate contribution margin.
Set your allowable CAC or MER target.
Use platform data only to decide which campaigns deserve the next dollar.
The trap is optimizing inside a dashboard while the P&L gets worse.
A clean attribution report does not pay payroll.
Cash does.
Action Summary
Pull weekly Shopify revenue, ad spend, gross margin, and contribution margin.
Set a business-level MER or CAC target before touching campaign budgets.
Use attribution tools to explain performance, not define it.
If platform ROAS improves but contribution profit does not, stop scaling.
Retail
Retail buyers are not “lost” customers
Most brands treat retail like a sales channel.
Smart brands treat it like a customer-capture channel.
Kait Stephens shared a rebate campaign that drove:
200,000+ scans
550,000+ engagements
$190,000+ in incremental DTC revenue
The mechanism matters more than the numbers.
Retail usually hides the customer.
You sell through Target, Walmart, Amazon, or grocery.
The unit moves.
But you don’t own the relationship.
A rebate changes that.
The customer buys in retail, then scans a QR code to claim value.
Now the brand gets a direct interaction:
Phone number
Email
Product purchased
Store/channel signal
Post-purchase intent
Review or education moment
That turns a one-time retail transaction into an owned customer path.
The weak version is “scan for 10% off.”
The strong version is:
Get reimbursed
Unlock usage tips
Register warranty
Join refill reminders
Claim a gift
Get a recipe/routine/guide tied to the product
Retail does not have to mean anonymous customers.
But you need a reason for them to raise their hand.
Action Summary
Add a QR-based post-purchase offer to retail packaging or inserts.
Make the incentive useful enough to scan.
Capture email/SMS with clear consent.
Segment retail buyers separately from DTC buyers.
Build a follow-up flow that drives education, reorder, review, or cross-sell.
SEO
Stop checking your AI visibility by hand

A few weeks ago we ran Neil Patel's method for checking whether AI recommends your brand.
Pull 10 of your longer reviews, turn every worry into a question, run them through ChatGPT one at a time, note whether you show up.
It works. It's also an afternoon of copy-paste, and it only tells you where you stood on a Tuesday. Do it once and you have a snapshot. Nobody does it twice.
Semrush One runs that check continuously, sitting next to the organic data you already watch. The Domain Research panel toggles between SEO and AI Search, so authority score, traffic share, keyword movement, and whether you're surfacing in AI answers all live in one view instead of a browser tab and a notebook.
The SEO game is changing. Stay ahead and stay visible.
DTC Daily readers get 14 days of Semrush One free. Unlimited access to every tool in the suite.
