Cheap customers are expensive
Many online brands running Meta ads choose something called Lowest Cost bidding.
That simply means you’re telling Meta:
“Get me as many purchases as possible for the lowest cost.”
That sounds smart.
But here’s what actually happens.
Lowest Cost tells Meta to find the cheapest conversions.
So the algorithm looks for the easiest people to convince.
These are usually people who only buy with a discount, people with a low average order value (AOV), and people who buy once and never return.
You get more purchases.
But your profit stays flat.
Instead of optimizing for Lowest Cost, you can use tROAS (Target Return on Ad Spend).
This means you tell Meta:
“For every $1 I spend, I need $X back.”
Now Meta doesn’t just predict who will buy.
It also predicts how much they will spend.
That often means customers who:
Spend more per order
Buy bundles instead of single items
Are more likely to buy again
Based on results across multiple client accounts, this brand generated:
10–30% higher average order values
Increased conversion rates
30%+ more profitable ad spend
Incremental reach using the same ads
If you're running Meta ads and getting sales but margins feel thin, this applies to you.
What you can do:
Duplicate your current Lowest Cost campaign instead of replacing it so you can test safely.
Change the bidding setting to Target ROAS
Start with a smaller budget to control risk while the system learns.
Expect higher click and reach costs because you’re bidding for more valuable buyers.

Golden Archive
Your Amazon ads are bleeding money on irrelevant searches
Problem: Your ads show up in random searches that would likely never convert.
The fix: After 10+ clicks with zero sales → add that term as a negative keyword.

How to add negative keywords?
Amazon Ads Manager → Search Term Report → Block the losers.
Our Golden Archive posts feature timeless tips and strategies from past newsletters.
TikTok Shop
The smarter way to grow on TikTok Shop
Most brands waste time manually testing creatives when their highest-converting videos are already being made by affiliates.
GMV Max identifies those winners and puts more budget behind them, driving higher sales with less effort.
Triquetra Health, a supplements brand, tested this after spending too much time manually optimizing campaigns. In the first month:
136% increase in TikTok product sales
30% lift in sales from other channels (Amazon, DTC)
4x ROI
10 hours saved per week on campaign management
How to do it:
Recruit 10–20 affiliates and send them product samples with a commission offer (around 10–20% is common).
Let their videos post and run organically for a few days to gather performance data.
Turn on GMV Max, set your return target, and give it a defined budget.
Example: “I’m willing to spend $1,000. I want at least 3x back.”
Then TikTok automatically:
Finds which affiliate videos are already getting sale
Puts your ad money behind those specific videos
Watch which creators’ videos the system keeps scaling and deepen those partnerships.
