It doesn’t matter if you’re using GPT-4, Claude or Gemini. If your prompt sucks, the output will too.
Wanna write better ad copy, landing pages, PDPs, retention emails, and even campaign briefs?
Here’s 5 high-signal prompting methods that I use every week to get GPT to actually think like a strategist.
Chain Prompting (build smarter responses, step by step)
If you're asking GPT to write something complex, one-liner prompts won’t cut it.
Prompt Framework:
Let’s work in steps.
Step 1: Ask me questions to understand the task
Step 2: Confirm the direction
Step 3: Deliver the output in [format]
Example:
Help me write a retention campaign for a refillable deodorant brand.
Let’s work in steps:
- First, ask me about tone, audience, offer, and goal
- Then confirm direction
- Then write 3 emails in markdown format
Why it works:
Because GPT isn’t a mind reader. You build context. It builds better answers.

Bonus: one of them helps GPT write the prompt for you

Happy Monday!
Timing your texts right is one of the easiest wins in retention, and 99% of brands still get it wrong.
Here’s a few super easy tests worth running:
1. Post-purchase flows. Test same-day vs next-day sends.
If someone opts in or buys, wait 24 hours. I’ve seen delayed texts get more replies as people have time to read them.
2. Batch sends. Mornings vs evenings.
Try sending your next campaign at 6pm local time instead of 10am. People are more likely to browse when they’re off the clock.
3. Missed clicks. Add a re-send.
If they didn’t click your SMS within 8 hours, send a follow-up the next day with a new hook.
4. Time zones. Don’t skip this.
No one wants a promo text while brushing their teeth. Segment by time zone and hit them at a normal hour.
None of this is fancy. But it’ll quietly bump your CTRs, replies, and revenue.
Alright folks, that’s it for today!

Why your output sucks (and how to fix it)
Bad GPT output isn’t because of the model but because your prompt didn’t include:
Context
Role
Format
Tone
Constraints
Once you nail these 5 elements, even a basic task like “write me a product description” becomes something your team can copy-paste into an ad or PDP.
Best for: turning messy ideas into Notion docs, SOPs, strategy notes, or reports
