Good morning,

Most stock problems look like purchasing problems.

Sometimes, the inventory already exists. It is simply sitting in the wrong warehouse or reserved for the wrong sales channel.

Today:
We break down how Hulken keeps inventory moving between DTC and wholesale, share a better way to prompt AI in 2026, flag the Google Ads change you need to check and examine which review platforms business owners actually trust.

Today’s Deep Dive

How Hulken Stops Inventory Getting Trapped in the Wrong Channel

Hulken has sold more than one million bags and crossed $100 million in lifetime sales.

But rapid growth created a new risk:

The company could have enough inventory and still sell out in the wrong channel.

Source: Hulken

Retail changed the inventory equation

Hulken now sells through its website, Amazon, QVC, Target, The Container Store and more than 2,500 retail doors.

Retail grew from 16% to 34% of revenue in one year. Around 40% of annual sales arrive in Q4.

More channels create more places for forecasts to be wrong.

Stock can sit with a wholesale partner while the website sells out. The inventory exists, but Hulken cannot sell it where demand appears.

Hulken put DTC and wholesale under one 3PL

Hulken previously used separate fulfilment partners.

Now one 3PL manages both operations, allowing the company to reallocate stock as demand changes.

It also gives its nine-person team one provider to manage.

Flexibility makes forecasting mistakes cheaper

A retailer may suddenly need more units. A successful campaign may lift online orders. One colour may outsell every forecast.

Hulken can now move the allocation instead of losing sales or rushing more inventory by air.

Find where your inventory is trapped

Ask four questions:

  1. How much stock is reserved for each channel?

  2. Can it be reallocated without changing warehouses?

  3. How long would that take?

  4. Who makes the decision?

You may not need more inventory.

You may need more control over where it can be sold.

AI Launch Codes

How to Prompt AI in 2026

Early prompt guides taught the same formula:

  1. Role: You are a paid ads expert with 20 years of experience.

  2. Task: Write five Meta ads.

  3. Context: Here is everything about my business.

  4. Format: Return the ads in a table.

(and variations of the above format).

This framework was built for an earlier generation of AI.

Today’s models are much smarter.

They can reason through complicated problems, analyse large amounts of information, work across files, use tools and complete multi-step tasks.

But most people still prompt them the old way.

The result?

AI is over-directed in places that no longer matter and under-informed where judgment is required.

You get an answer.

But rarely the best work the model can produce.

Anthropic has published a new guide to prompting its latest models

The guide explains how to get better results from today’s more capable AI.

Its recommendations include:

  • Give AI a clear objective

  • Explain why important instructions matter

  • Show it examples of good work

  • Tell it whether to advise or complete the task

  • Give it the relevant files and source material

  • Define what must be true before it finishes

The guide is comprehensive.

It is also written for developers and gets technical quickly.

So we have translated it into a simple process any ecommerce founder can follow.

Below, we show you how to prompt AI in 2026 and give you a reusable framework that produces better work, regardless of the task.

P.S. AI Launch Codes gives you two ready-to-use workflows every week. Each one helps you make money, cut costs, save time or remove a frustrating task from your business.

On Socials

Which review platform should your brand actually use?

More than 400 comments from business owners produced a clear split: Google wins for visibility, Shopify review apps work well on-site, while Trustpilot and Yelp attracted the strongest criticism.

My takeaway: collect reviews where customers will discover you, and make sure you can export the reviews you worked to earn.

💰 Today’s Growth Rep: Call One Lost Customer

Task:

Find one customer who used to buy regularly but has not ordered recently.

Call them.

Do not sell. Ask what changed, what nearly brought them back and what would make them order again.

Why this works:

Analytics show that a customer left.

A conversation tells you why.

One honest answer could expose a problem affecting hundreds of other customers.

Your rep:

  • Choose one valuable lapsed customer

  • Make the call

  • Write down the exact words they use

  • Fix or test one thing you learn

Report: “Customer Called”

One conversation can reveal what another dashboard never will.

The 2026 Prompting System

Anthropic’s latest guide changes prompting in five practical ways:

  • Define the outcome: Tell AI what must exist when the work is finished, not which fictional expert it should pretend to be.

  • Give it places to investigate: Direct it to your ad account, Shopify store, analytics, customer reviews and other connected tools.

  • Show it what good looks like: Ask it to study your previous winners and relevant competitor examples before creating anything.

  • Tell it to complete the work: “Suggest improvements” produces advice. “Analyse, decide and build” produces a finished deliverable.

  • Define the finish line: Explain what must be true before AI can consider the task complete.

Your AI should also have access to a company wiki or, at minimum, a folder containing your products, customers, positioning and brand rules.

If you have not created one, read our guide on building your company wiki.

Here is the new structure.
